About Euclyde

Euclyde was founded in 2004 and specializes in local hosting at Edge Data Centres. They run a total of 6 data centres located all over France, with a concentration in the east. The solution

For Euclyde the Lift&Drive DC09 U52 was a perfect fit with the telescope mast that allows passing through low passages while still reaching the top U position in the server rack.

Safe at any height

Euclyde Datacentres decided on a Lift&Drive DC09 U52 server and battery lifter for their data centre in Lyon. The most important for Oliver Nambrard was to provide the data centre clients with a lifting solution that could prevent injuries to personnel and materials during server handling in their facilities.

The challenge

Euclyde Datacentres provides local hosting for clients at a so-called 'Edge Data Centre.' Being a smaller facility for local companies they have experienced problems when clients work on their servers. Due to a lack of staff that can support during server handling, they face an increased risk of accidents or injuries to personnel and equipment during work.

The solution

To address the immediate problem with server handling in their facilities and improve service to their clients, the search for a suitable material handling solution began, and Pronomic emerged as a potential supplier.

"It was important to us to have a local company close to us," Olivier Nambrard, operational manager at Euclyde states.

Another factor was finding a solution that could fit the available space. The data centre is tight, with cable gates above and narrow, low passageways to consider. The Lift&Drive DC09 U52 was a perfect fit with the telescope mast that allows passing through low passages while still reaching the top U position in the server rack. With the flexible and easily adjusted handlebar, the lifting solution can be adapted to multiple users to ensure an ergonomic work position. The tight turning radius of the lifting solution also allowed easy movement in the data centre, even around the tightest bends.

Benefits

Euclyde got a flexible solution that allows mounting of servers at any position in the server racks and is well- adapted to the tight design of the data centre. Above all, the solution is intuitive and easy to use for different users.

"Now we can provide a safe work environment for our clients, which is a top priority for us," Olivier Nambrard concludes.
