Pronomic SAS celebrates 20 years of creating safer, smarter work in France
Pronomic SAS is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades since the company was founded as Movomech SARL on 1 December 2005. From a one‑person operation started in a private home, the company has grown into a key part of the Pronomic Group, helping customers across France create safer, more efficient and more ergonomic workplaces.
“Looking back to 2005, the idea was simple: help French companies lift and move materials in a safer and smarter way,” says Pierre Ellow, founder of Movomech SARL and now in a new role within the Pronomic Group. “What began at my kitchen table has become a strong team of specialists who design and deliver solutions that really change work for people on the factory floor.”
From home office to national presence
When Movomech SARL was created in 2005, the company’s assignment was clear: build a network of distributors for the French market. During the early years, the business operated solely through distributors, laying the foundation for long‑term partnerships and customer relationships. It was in this period that the company first came into contact with Ingénitec – a specialist in ergonomic material handling that later became part of Pronomic through an acquisition in April 2023.
As demand grew, the company moved from a home office to its first dedicated premises in Saint‑Étienne in 2008. In 2011, operations were relocated closer to Lyon, with a new office in Brignais. The final move to Millery in 2014 was driven by the need for larger premises and warehouse capacity, enabling faster deliveries and a broader range of solutions for customers across France.
Each step in this journey has been guided by the same principle: create practical, high‑quality lifting and moving solutions that reduce strain, improve safety and keep production flowing smoothly.
Becoming Pronomic – and part of a European creator family
On 1 January 2022, Movomech SARL changed its name to Pronomic, becoming the first company in the group to carry the Pronomic name. Since then, most of the group’s subsidiaries have aligned under the same brand. Today, five companies in Europe share the Pronomic name: Sweden, Finland, Germany, France and, most recently, the United Kingdom.
Across these markets, Pronomic focuses on premium, modular lifting and moving solutions – from ergonomic lifting trolleys to rail and crane systems and custom‑engineered tools. The shared goal is to make work safer, more sustainable and more efficient, while giving customers the flexibility to adapt solutions to their specific processes.
“Our identity as creators is central to who we are,” says Ellow. “If you can imagine a safer, smoother way to handle materials, our job is to turn that idea into a reliable, beautifully engineered solution.”
New leadership and a growing team
In 2024, Pronomic SAS entered a new chapter in its development. With Pierre Ellow taking on a new assignment within the Pronomic Group, the company’s leadership in France passed to Managing Director Jean‑Charles Doublet.
Today, Pronomic SAS employs around 45 people, covering sales, engineering, project management, installation, service and logistics. Together, they support customers in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and more.
“Pronomic SAS has a strong legacy of being close to customers and solving real‑world challenges on the factory floor,” says Doublet. “Our focus now is to build on that foundation: expand our local presence, strengthen our service offering and continue to innovate ergonomic solutions that make work genuinely safer and easier for people.”
20 years of impact – and a clear vision for the future
Over the past two decades, Pronomic’s solutions in France have helped countless operators and teams reduce manual lifting, lower injury risks and improve productivity. Tailor‑made tools, smart lifting trolleys and smooth rail systems have turned heavy, repetitive tasks into safer, controlled and more ergonomic operations.
Looking ahead, Pronomic SAS will continue to work closely with customers, partners and colleagues across Europe to develop new solutions that support safe, sustainable and efficient work environments.
“For 20 years, this company has shown what can happen when you combine creativity with a strong sense of responsibility for people at work,” says Doublet. “We are proud of our history, and we are excited about what we can create together over the next 20 years.”
